Community Potluck

December 5th was a first in two years for the Newark Think Tank on Poverty. A group of local organizers gathered in person at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Newark. Founders, veterans, new members, and fellow community organizers shared a meal and discussed their experiences in fighting for change at the grassroots level.

Lesha Farias led a speech congratulating the winners of the Paddy Kurtz award, David Ruderman and Kandice Hairston. Attendees were also welcome to join NTTP in a group study of the book Organizing for Social Change, a handbook for community organizing by The Midwest Academy.
